Welcome to Persnickety Living!
What is Persnickety Living?
Persnickety Living is a blog about travel, food, and lifestyle with a focus on mindfully making your life better one step at a time.
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this blog is for you!
Who am I?
My name is Kit. I was born and raised in California but consider myself to be a global citizen. I am a traveler, plant-based foodie, blogger, and virtual assistant.
My goal is to slowly incorporate mindful changes into my life to be more sustainable. Because, you know, there is no ‘Planet B’.
And although I enjoy life’s comforts, I am also budget conscious.
I am definitely learning as I go and would love to share my experiences with you.
Why do I write this blog?
Travel has always been my passion, so that is the main focus here. I hope to share my experiences and give insight and tips for destinations all over the world.
Check out my posts about France, the US, Japan, Mexico, and more!
I love food–who doesn’t, right? But in an effort to help the planet I have been vegan or vegetarian for the last several years. On top of that, I have several food allergies (wheat, corn, soy, and peanuts). While eating at home is easy, eating out, especially while traveling, is not.
Check out my posts about plant-based eating.
I also want to encourage you and give you some ideas of how you can be more sustainable, too. That is to say, I want to give you options for a better life and world without a “don’t do this!– don’t do that!” atmosphere. No one needs that!
There’s a lot of information out there, and it’s difficult to wade through it all. Therefore, I want to give you a welcoming place to share ideas that inspire. I know it’s not easy being “green” in this plastic-filled world, but if we make conscious steps, however small, we can all make a difference.
See my lifestyle posts for more information.
Is Persnickety Living free?
Well, yes and no. First, the content is free for YOU to read always. BUT! This blog costs (me) money to run…you know, things like annual fees for a domain name, monthly charges for web hosting, etc. I’m trying to run as lean as I can, and I would love to make enough money to cover the costs.
This has lead me to monetize my site. You may see ads and affiliate links on my pages and posts. I try to keep these to a minimum, and I only promote products or services that I believe in.
If you decide to click on a link or ad here on Persnickety Living, know that it doesn’t cost you any more money, but I will receive a small commission.
I have a Resources page to help you and help me. 🙂
Join me in sharing ideas about Travel, Food, and Lifestyle. Be sure to follow me here at Persnickety Living and on social media to not miss out on any posts!
Most importantly, thank you for making the world a better place one step at a time.
